It's More Than Just Karate!

STRATFORD DOJANG GRADUATION 12.2006

DOUBLE IMPACT SEMINAR
Eight Federation Members attended a 4-Hour Double Impact Seminar. The first two hours, focusing on Modern Arnis, were taught by Master Ken Smith. The next two hours, focusing on Pressure-point Applications, were taught by Master George Dillman.

CLINTON DOJANG GRADUATION 12.14.2006
The Clinton Dojang recently held a Gup Graduation at their Dragon Star Martial Arts Center. Instructors are Master Sharyn Drapala and Mr. Ken Hartley.


NEW FEDERATION DOJANG
Mr. Bill MacDonald will be opening his 2nd location in Phoenix, AZ. on the 1st of the New Year. Plans for a Federation trip to Arizona to conduct a grading for the two schools in the Spring are underway. If interested, please contact Grandmaster Cheezic.

NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC DOCUMENTARY 11.13.2006
On Monday November 13th, National Geographic came all the way from the West Coast to USA Martial Arts, Naugatuck. The documentary was performed on Danny White. Mr. White, is a 17 year old senior at Naugatuck High School and is 1 of only 100 people who are dwarfs in the United States. Mr. White started his Martial Arts training in the Cheezic Tang Soo Do Federation in early 2004. The documentary included filming Mr. White's promotion to Apprentice Black Belt, conducted by Grandmaster Cheezic. The people from National Geographic were very suprised to find out that one of Mr. White's hobbies was training in Tang Soo Do. The 1 hour documentary will air on television within the next 3 months.

NEW HAMPSHIRE NATIONALS 11.12.2006
On Sunday November 12th, Federation members participated in the New Hampshire Nationals held in Keene, NH. This was an IPPONE rated tournament. Congratulations to the following, Great Job!!

MOHEGAN SUN NATIONAL KARATE TOURNAMENT 10.29.2006
On Sunday October 29th, Federation members participated in the Mohegan Sun National Karate Tournament. Master Lindo & Master Deutsch brought a team from Southern Connecticut State University, Master Melo competed along with Miss Kristine Reilly and Miss Molly Smith from the West Haven Dojang, Mr. Barbera coached two fighters from Central Connecticut State University - Mr. Adam Chiara & Mr. Justin DelGuidice and Mr. Ian Lane from the Danielson Dojang competed in Open Forms competition. The tournament was part of the KRANE circuit and was rated as AAAAA.

On October 6th, Lyne Landry #167 was promoted to the rank of 6th Dan Master Black Belt

POLISH TEAM COMPETES IN HOLLAND WITH GREAT SUCCESS!!
The Polish Team let by the head instructor Mr. Marcin Kostyra competed in the European Tang Soo Do Tournament in Holland on November 5, 2006. There were 12 competitors from Poland plus the instructor. The team won 21 medals.

MASTER LEE
Late this summer we had a surprise visit from Master Aldwin H. Lee. Master Lee is the President of the Holland Tang Soo Do organization in Holland. Our Federation School in Poland, has travelled to Holland to compete in tourmanents run by Master Lee. We were pleased to have Master Lee visit some of our schools in the area and attend some of our classes and gradings. Master Lee conducted a sword seminar in Haedong Kumdo while visiting our headquarters location. We look forward to meeting up with Master Lee in the near future.
