Grandmaster Cheezic
is founder and President of Cheezic Tang Soo Do. While stationed in the U.S. Air Force in Korea in 1959, he earned black belt #2278 in Moo Duk Kwan Tang Soo Do from the style's founder, Hwang Kee. After returning to the United States, Grandmaster Cheezic began to share the art of Tang Soo Do with others in his Waterbury, Connecticut community. What began with one student has grown for more than 50 years into the internationally respected Cheezic Tang Soo Do Karate Federation, an organization with thousands of members worldwide. Our Philosophy
The Cheezic Tang Soo Do Karate Federation promotes the education of men, women and children in the traditional Korean martial art of Tang Soo Do. Founded by Grandmaster Robert A. Cheezic, the Federation is the governing body for its international roster of member schools. One of the oldest, most respected martial arts organizations in the United States, Cheezic Tang Soo Do is comprised of world-class martial artists from beginner to master level, all certified by the Grandmaster himself. Our goal is to teach self-respect and respect for others through the study and practice of Tang Soo Do. The ideas of respect and tradition are pervasive in all of our activities and for all students at every level of achievement. Cheezic Tang Soo Do Federation Challenge III
On Sunday, May 19, 2013, the CTSD Federation Challenge III Tournament for sparring and
weapons competition was held. We welcomed a record-setting number of competitors and spectators for this event held at the Waterbury Athletic Centers in Hamilton Park in Watebury!
The venue was new for us and worked out perfectly. It was comfortable and spacious enough for us to run 14 simultaneous rings. Many thanks to the judges and referees who handled more than 90 competition categories with efficiency and professionalism, completing all divisions by noon. Congratulations to all competitors on jobs well done. Thank you to Grandmaster Cheezic for making the event possible. We couldn't have enjoyed the event's success without the hard work of our tournament event staff: Master Lyne Landry, Master Rita Hubbard, Master Michael Cavallaro, Master Roger LaFrance, Master Jan Grimes, Ms. Tara Feher, Mrs. Misty Sherman, Mr. Roger Sherman, and all of the individuals who contributed behind the scenes.
Competitor points for sparring and weapons have been calculated and are posted in the Downloads section of this website. Those who placed in 1st through 4th place for the 2013 competition year will be honored as the Best of Our Best at our annual event in February. Congratulations!
