Our Philosophy
The Cheezic Tang Soo Do Karate Federation promotes the education of men, women and children in the traditional Korean martial art of Tang Soo Do. Founded by Grandmaster Robert A. Cheezic, the Federation is the governing body for its international roster of member schools. One of the oldest, most respected martial arts organizations in the United States, Cheezic Tang Soo Do is comprised of world-class martial artists from beginner to master level, all certified by the Grandmaster himself. Our goal is to teach self-respect and respect for others through the study and practice of Tang Soo Do. The ideas of respect and tradition are pervasive in all of our activities and for all students at every level of achievement. 1st 2012 Federation Challenge Tournament Success!
Our first Cheezic Tang Soo Do Federation tournament of 2012 was held on Sunday, January 22nd at the Waterbury Boys & Girls Club. This Federation Challenge event was for competition in sparring and weapons divisions. With more than 115 divisions to choose from, there was a competition opportunity for everyone. The day saw enthusiastic challenges, particularly in the Black Belt and Master's Divisions. Credit for an expertly run event goes to Master Lyne Landry, Tournament Director; Master Rita Hubbard who assists Master Landry; and Master Michael Cavallaro who is the Points and Ring Coordinator for all of our tournament events. Special thanks to the Black Belts and Masters who travelled to Waterbury from as far as Cape Cod and Rhode Island to help judge and referee. Big thanks to Grandmaster Cheezic for making this event possible.
Our next tournament event will be held on Sunday, March 18th, which will be our 2nd Federation Challenge of the year for Forms and Breaking. Federation members have much to be grateful for and so much to participate in with these and all of our annual events. Congratulations to all competitors and division winners. Tang Soo!
