The Robert A. Cheezic Scholarship was founded in 2021 to honor the memory of Grandmaster Cheezic and his commitment to “leaving more than you take,” and is awarded annually in the amount of $1,000. The scholarship recipient will be selected based on criteria such as martial arts study and achievement, academic achievement, a written essay, and participation and leadership in community and school activities. The award must be used to further the student’s college education and must be applied to school expenses in the year in which it is received.
Who is eligible?
- The scholarship is open to a student who plans to attend full-time as an undergraduate at an accredited four-year college or university.
- Be a martial artist and an active member of a Cheezic Tang Soo Do school for five or more years of study.
- Have a “B” average grade or better in school.
Application Requirements
- Application Form: Complete all parts of this application legibly.
- Letters of Recommendation: Submit two current letters of recommendation from an adult (non-relative) who has known you for at least two years. Recommendations must speak to the qualities and character demonstrated by Grandmaster Cheezic.
- Essay: Attach your essay to this form.
- Completed Application: must arrive by January 6, 2024
